K1 New Year Fest
The all-white Fuji ritual that owns the first week of every new year. From Edition 1.0 to 5.0 and counting — it’s now a household name for Detty December returnees.
How K1 New Year Fest came together.

What started as a bold idea in 2021 — a Fuji party on January 2nd, right when everyone’s still buzzing from New Year’s Eve — has evolved into a Lagos institution. K1 New Year Fest is now the party you plan your Detty December trip around.
Edition 1.0 in 2021 was intimate. A room full of day-ones who showed up on faith. By Edition 2.0, word had spread — Nigerians in the diaspora started booking their flights home specifically to make the January 2nd date. By the time we hit Edition 3.0 at Amore Gardens in Lekki, the show had become an all-white party spectacle with K1 holding the room from red carpet at 8pm till the early hours.
Edition 4.0 pushed the bar even higher. Queens Park Event Center in Lagos turned into a sea of white. Three thousand people deep, every one of them on their feet from the first beat to the last.
People now fly home to Lagos just for this party. It’s become as much a part of the festive calendar as the New Year countdown itself. A household Fuji party, every first week of the new year. Five editions in, and we’re just getting started.
